Emergency Advisory Group

The Emergency Advisory Group operates within its terms of reference, which were agreed by the Parish Council Meeting

This Advisory Group has representatives from the Parish Council, the local Fire Service and members of the community, who can offer specialist input in this area

Flood Plan

There is now a flood plan in place and the Parish Council has the legal powers to close Low Street in the event of flooding.  This action will be taken by trained flood warden, who will be clearly identified by their yellow vests.  The Flood plan can be viewed below along with a letter sent to all residents who will be affected by an event of this type.

A FREE guide to help rural communities protect themselves from flooding has been launched.

The Community Guide to Your Water Environment offers guidance on how communities can work with local authorities, drainage boards, farmers and the Environment Agency to reduce the risks of flooding and drought through a process called integrated local delivery.

It also explains how to protect water quality and biodiversity by taking action locally.

The guide was produced by Action with Communities in Rural England (ACRE) in partnership with the Farming Wildlife Advisory Group (FWAG), the National Farmers Union and the Countryside and Community Research Institute (CCRI)
