Community Involvement

At Collingham in Bloom, our community is the heart of everything we do. From seed sowing to planting, litter picks to local events, our shared efforts bring colour, pride, and nature into every corner of the village.

We’re proud to work alongside a fantastic range of local groups. WI Collingham contributes expertise and energy to planting schemes and displays. 1st Collingham Scouts support practical tasks and green projects with great enthusiasm. Greet, Eat and Meet ensures everyone is included through friendly, welcoming activities.

John Blow Primary School helps grow our seasonal displays from seed—starting with trays of tasty veg, sunflowers and other pollinator-friendly plants—giving pupils a hands-on connection to the environment. Collingham Young Farmers offer practical skills and a strong link to the rural roots of our community. Meanwhile, the Collingham & District Local History Society shares the stories behind the places we plant, connecting our present efforts with our past.

Together, we grow many of our flowers from seed, including bright sunflowers, marigolds, cosmos, and cornflowers—bringing vibrant colour to beds, borders, and planters across the village, while also supporting pollinators.

Our volunteers—young and old, experienced or new—are united by a shared pride in Collingham. By working together, we’re not only enhancing green spaces, we’re building friendships and creating a more connected, sustainable village.
