Our village is home to two thriving allotment sites—Green Way and Poor Close—each playing a vital role in Collingham in Bloom’s mission to promote sustainable growing, healthy living, and strong community ties.
These spaces are more than just plots; they’re places where people come together to grow fresh produce, share knowledge, and connect with nature. Plot holders range from seasoned gardeners to first-time growers, all united by a love of local, seasonal food and a commitment to greener living.
Both sites support:
- Wildlife-friendly practices such as composting, water conservation, and pollinator planting
- Community-led initiatives, including open days and surplus produce sharing
- Intergenerational learning, with families and volunteers working side by side
Green Way Allotments offers easy access and newer infrastructure, while Poor Close carries a sense of local heritage and tradition.
Together, they reflect Collingham’s values of sustainability, cooperation, and pride in place—all growing strong from the ground up.
