Thank you for your interest in the Collingham Neighbourhood Plan, a community-led initiative to shape the future of our village.
Progress to Date
Over the last two years, the Collingham Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group — made up of local residents, Parish Council members, and community stakeholders — has worked diligently to gather evidence, engage with the community, and prepare a draft plan that reflects the priorities and aspirations of the local community.
Key milestones achieved to date include:
Community Engagement
We have held public consultation events, surveys, and focus groups to gather views on housing, green spaces, transport, local character, and infrastructure.
Evidence Gathering
A comprehensive evidence base has been prepared, drawing on technical studies and local knowledge, including environmental, heritage, and planning assessments, to ensure the plan is robust and policy-compliant.
Policy Development
Using community feedback and supporting evidence, a series of draft planning policies has been developed to guide future development in Collingham in a way that meets local needs while protecting the village’s character.
We are now ready to move to the next stage of the process.

Anticipated Submission Date
We aim to submit the Collingham Neighbourhood Plan to Newark and Sherwood District Council in late spring 2026.
Once submitted, the plan will be subject to independent examination and, if found to meet the required conditions, will proceed to a local referendum. Subject to a successful referendum, the Neighbourhood Plan will form part of the statutory development plan and will be used to help determine planning applications in Collingham.
