As 2025 draws to a close, Collingham Parish Council reflects on a year of dedicated service, community spirit, and meaningful progress. From planning and finance to vibrant events and infrastructure improvements, the Council has been at the heart of village life.
Over the last few months, residents will have noticed the newly installed memorial poppies and plaques along the High Street, a poignant tribute to those who served in WW1. The Council was proudly represented at remembrance services in both Collingham and Winthorpe, honouring our shared history.
Festivities continued with the Christmas lights switch-on, a cherished tradition that brings warmth and joy to the village. All your generous donations will support future community projects.
Throughout the year, the Council supported a wide range of events and initiatives:
- Flooding response: Our Flood Wardens acted swiftly to protect residents and manage road closures.
- May Fair & VE Day celebrations: These events brought the community together in celebration and remembrance.
- Youth engagement: Skate Park Jams and Extreme Wheels events offered fun and safe activities for young people.
- Environmental efforts: Regular litter picks and the “Collingham in Bloom” campaign earned us a Silver Gilt award.
- Community showcases: The Collingham Show highlighted local talent and enterprise.
- Neighbourhood Plan: Nearing completion, this vital document will guide future development—targeted for January.
- Play Park upgrades: Safety matting and fresh paint have made the park more welcoming for families.
As we wrap up the year, the Parish Council extends heartfelt thanks to all volunteers, partners, and residents who make Collingham a wonderful place to live. Wishing everyone a joyful festive season and a Happy Christmas!
