Beaumond House invites you to Light up a Life this Christmas

Beaumond House Hospice Care invites you and your family to attend one of their Light up a Life services in Southwell, Newark, Balderton, and Collingham. Open to all, each service will feature readings, music, and moments for reflection and remembrance.

Christmas can be a time of great joy, but Beaumond House understands that for others, it can feel lonely. The hospice hopes you will join them to gather as a community, supporting each other and sharing memories in memory of those loved ones who are no longer with us.

This year, Beaumond House is delighted to partner with The Shed@Collingham to offer a hand-crafted, limited edition candle holder. Made from upcycled oak from a 175-year-old church pew, each piece has been carefully created to be a lasting keepsake.

“We’re excited for this collaboration between Beaumond House Hospice Care and
The Shed @ Collingham. Memorable things happen when working together, especially between two organisations that have care and well-being at the forefront. Individuals from our respective organisations have brought together their diverse skills, perspectives, and ideas to create a centre point for this year’s Light up a Life.”

“The importance of this collaboration for members of The Shed @ Collingham can’t
be underestimated,” says Dez Williams, Lead for Shed Well-Being. “They take pride
not only in what they make, but also in knowing that what they create will be
cherished forever by the recipient.”

Candle holders can be ordered via beaumondhouse.co.uk/events/light-up-a-life and collected from Beaumond House reception, our charity shops, or at the services.

Andrea Ward, Individual Giving Fundraising Manager at Beaumond House, adds:
“Our Light up a Life appeal is a special way to remember our loved ones at this time of year. Join us to make a dedication, light a candle, enjoy beautiful musical performances, hear reflections, and share memories. Every donation helps us continue providing the very best care for patients and families.”

Donations start from £5 per dedication, and supporters can also purchase a limited edition Light up a Life pin badge. Dedications and donations can be made online at beaumondhouse.co.uk/events/light-up-a-life.

Dedications are welcome in memory of anyone, not only those with a connection to Beaumond House.

You can also hang a personalised tag on the Christmas trees at each church during the services and light a candle in memory of your loved one.
